Generate. Store. Charge.

One system, planned in three stages.

Panels generate it, a battery holds it, a charger puts it to work. Most Hampshire homes start with the roof and add to it, and designing for the full picture from the start keeps the equipment compatible and the cabling tidy.

01. GENERATE

Solar panels

Sized to your roof and your electricity use, with the inverter chosen to suit a battery or charger if you want one now or later.

02. STORE

Battery storage

Holds spare daytime generation for the evening, and on the right tariff can fill up on cheaper off-peak electricity.

03. CHARGE

EV charging

A home charger on its own circuit, able to take spare solar before it takes anything from the grid.

Planning ahead

Planning an EV or a heat pump?

Future demand can change the right solar and battery size. A system sized for today's bills can end up too small once a car or heat pump arrives, so tell us what is coming and we plan for it, or leave room to add it later.

  • An electric car, now or soon. The charger gets its own circuit and can use spare solar before the grid.
  • A heat pump or electric heating.Winter demand rises, which changes how big the array and battery should be.
  • Your tariff.Cheaper overnight rates change when a battery should charge and when a car should plug in.

Compare the cards and no two systems match, because no two households use power the same way.

Figures are the estimated first-year benefit calculated for each customer's own system at the time of installation, based on MCS-standard assessment methodology. They are estimates, not guarantees, so actual savings vary with household usage, weather and electricity prices.

Before you decide

Equipment that works together, checked first.

  • One system, not three separate quotes.Panels, inverter, battery and charger are specified together, so compatibility is settled before anything is ordered.
  • A real survey.Someone looks at your roof, shading, consumer unit and cable routes in person before a proposal is written, not a satellite estimate or a guess from a photo.
  • The assumptions in writing.Your proposal sets out system size, expected annual generation, shading allowances and how much of it the household is likely to use. Where EPVS validation applies, those performance figures are independently checked.
  • Room to grow.If a battery or charger is coming later, the inverter and the electrics are checked for it now, so adding it is a small job and not a rewiring.

Payment options

Build the system around the home, then structure the payment.

Solar, storage and EV charging can be combined into one project where appropriate, with qualifying payment options considered against the final design. Compare the project cost with the energy plan, side by side. Nothing is guaranteed. Your proposal lists the cost, the benefit it is expected to deliver and every payment route as separate lines.

Cash

Pay outright

Pay the project cost in one go and the system is yours outright.

Monthly

Monthly payments

Fixed repayments over an agreed term, where you qualify. Stretching the term lowers each payment but adds to the total cost of credit.

Routes

No-upfront and 0% routes

Where eligible, a project can start with nothing paid upfront, and short-term 0% offers turn up on selected products from time to time. Eligibility depends on your circumstances, so we raise both once the design is settled.

Multiple homes, one area?

Ask about current neighbourhood or area-installation offers. If nearby homes are installing around the same time, we can check whether anything applies when you add your postcode.

Finance is subject to status, affordability and lender approval. The installation team behind Hampshire Solar acts as a credit broker, not a lender. Asking about payment options is not a finance application and won't affect your credit file.

Older homes and protected areas get checked first.

Hampshire has listed terraces in Winchester, conservation areas in market towns like Romsey, and homes inside the New Forest and South Downs National Parks. Any of these can need planning permission that would not apply elsewhere, and a roof that is thatched, or flint-built with a slate or tile covering, needs matched fixings. We check all of it at enquiry, before a survey, and not after you have been quoted.

What happens next

No obligation to go beyond the assessment.

Treat the enquiry as a planning exercise. You find out what a system could do for your home, and you decide what happens next.

01

Describe the home

Answer a handful of questions about the property, your usage and anything electric you plan to add.

02

Feasibility check

We judge whether the roof and electrics justify a visit, and may reach out to clarify a detail.

03

Survey, then a written plan

An engineer visits, and you get system size, expected generation, warranties and payment routes on paper.

04

Your decision

Asking commits you to nothing. If you do proceed, most installs take a day or two.

Common questions

Questions about planning solar, battery and EV together.

Should I design solar around a future EV?

If a car is likely within a few years, yes. A charger adds a regular evening or overnight load, which changes the best panel count, inverter and battery size. Planning for it now means the system fits the household you will have, and the charger can be added later without rework.

Is it better to install solar, battery and charger together?

Often, but not always. Done together, the equipment is specified as one system, the electrical work is planned once and one survey covers it all. If the budget says stage it, we can design it that way and make sure each later addition will connect cleanly.

Can storage use off-peak tariffs?

Yes, on a time-of-use tariff a battery can charge overnight when electricity is cheap and supply the house when rates are higher. Whether it pays depends on the tariff and your usage, so we look at both before suggesting it.
